The triumphal arch of the Etoile, often called simply the Arc de Triomphe, whose construction, decided by the Emperor Napoleon I, began in 1806 and ended in 1836 under Louis Philippe, is located in Paris, in the 8ᵉ, 16ᵉ, and 17ᵉ districts.
